A 1934 Standard 9 Saloon registered BPJ 956. This classic pre-war car is fitted with a 1052cc side-valve engine No. 224288, chassis No. 221725DL. The mileage reads at 5169 on the car’s odometer.

First registered in December 1934. Included in the sale is correspondence between a previous owner and the Standard Motor Club reporting that the car had been purchased from a dealership in Maidstone, Kent, who in turn had bought the car from the Stodon Motor Museum after its closure in 2015, where reportedly the Standard had been on display as part of the collection for the prior twenty years.

The previous owner also states in his correspondence that the car was running well after the repair of the starter motor, and requires the interior to be refitted. However he believed that most of the required items are with the car.

The letter reports that the steering box requires attention as there is approx. three inches of free-movement on the steering wheel.

The car is sold as a non-runner, as no attempt has been made to start the engine since its arrival at our Arthur Johnson Auctions. The car free-rolling, the brakes apply and disengage, and the gears select.

This car is to be sold as part of the liquidation of an estate due to illness and no vehicle registration document could be located. A V5 will have to be applied for by the buyer.
